Noemi from Slovakia shares her thoughts about the project – let’s read!

Have you ever heard of Kinball? Don’t feel bad if you haven’t. Neither have we. Well, not until recently when we decided to step out of our comfort zones and take part in a youth exchange, held between 3rd till 10th August in a cozy polish town Czersk.

But Kinball wasn’t the only thing we learnt during this wonderful week full of interactive workshops, intriguing debates, funny games and educative presentations.

Just like the name of the project suggests, we tried to banish obesity from our lives and invite healthy lifestyle instead. And I dare say, we all did our best to reach this goal. In case you wonder, let me tell you how.

To ensure a good team spirit and welcoming atmosphere, we began the project by some ice breakers, team building activities and a city game to explore the lovely town of Czersk.

Once we got to know one another better, we could start to work on the main topic and discover useful pieces of information about balanced diet, body mass index, sports and other aspects connected to both physical and mental health. And most importantly, we were especially eager to find out more about Kinball and have lots of fun playing it.

Luckily for us, on the second day we finally got our chance to practice not only Kinball but also other sports like volleyball, table tennis or football. In other words, each of us found an active and enjoyable way of spending their time.

For some of us that meant the most memorable parts were the cultural nights when we learnt something new about different countries, cultures, habits and had the opportunity to taste their traditional foods and drinks.

All in all, the project was a great adventure and amazing experience which shaped our bodies and minds, stimulated personal growth, boosted our confidence and gave us this wonderful long lasting side effect called friendships.
